Care
All stoneware is microwave & dishwasher safe.
All glazes used are food safe and lead-free.
If you take care of them, they will outlast you!
Cleaning Recommendations:
You can either hand wash them or put them in the dishwasher.
All hummingbird feeders do require cleaning from time to time.
All feeders get grungy, so you will want to scrub with water, dish soap, and an old toothbrush or bottle brush.
Stoneware for humans can be washed by hand or by dishwasher.
Please do not subject your pottery to temperature shock like open flames or an electric stove top.
Birdfeeders:
You’ll have to admit, ALL bird feeders get grungy! All my birdfeeders wash up great with soap, water, and a little scrubbing with a small brush or toothbrush. Please replenish the sugar water in the hummingbird feeders often, especially during the dog days of summer.
Protect Your Investment
If you have an active squirrel or raccoon population, please consider purchasing a squirrel/raccoon baffler that fits on a bird pole so those critters can’t get to your feeders. I like to hang my hummingbird feeders off the eaves of one of my porches or from an extension rod off a bird pole. With these simple precautions, I have yet to have one break …. knock on wood.
A Special Note About Hummingbird Feeders
In areas where winter temperatures remain below freezing, I suggest storing until early spring. Frozen sugar water could potentially break the vessel. Here in Savannah, Georgia, my feeders stay out 365 days of the year because we always have a few female Ruby-throated hummers that over winter. If the evening temps are expected to drop below 32, I’ll take the feeder in and put it back out in the morning.

Packaging
These hummingbird feeders weigh around 8-22 ounces or roughly a pound and a half before packing materials.
I double box items. I wrap things in tissue paper first, then brown paper, then the first box. Then, I use recycled packaging (save the Earth!) like peanuts and bubble wrap. The second box is intended to try to crush-proof the package- I don’t want to take chances.
A cup or hummingbird feeder will end up being less than 12 inches cubed upon completion.
